Daughter Seeing People
I'm not sure if this is the right question for a wiccan page, but im not really in any spiritual groups right now. My daughter has the gift to see the dead, not that it happens often but she has seen her grandfather, a fellow fishing at the beach, who she spoke with and the other night whilst awake she could see someone by the bed, whom i believe is still alive, this concerns me as this guy, was a very good friend, but allegations were made that he molested his girlfriends daughters.. She said he was standing by the bed, and she was saying this to her stepmum whilst she was in the room. They even did the white light protection, and she got her cards and put them under her pillow for protection. But she also claims there was another person there that she'd seen on tv that was a bad man also a paedophile i think... So im really wondering what is she seeing, its easy when you know they are spirits but what would be presenting to her like this??? If you have any suggestions i would appreciate it... About Me
Would like to start with appologies for being a part of this group for so long and haven't introduced myself. I go by Karlyn Rayne. My mother and grandmother were witches so my path was simple. Both my daughters also chose this path. Sometimes it isn't the simplest route but was the choice I made. Three years ago I came out of the broom closet. It was done as an act of trust in myself to know that people will make their judgements no matter what you do. With the dark months approaching, now is the time of reflection and turning inward to evaluate the past and plan a better future. As I look back I see a daughter, sister, mother, a dreamer, a neighbor, friend, healer, a shrink for my friends, and someone who although never really fitting in always loved even those who didn't like who-or-what I am. Soon I will move from this place in the woods to a place with way to many people. It keeps me awake. Six months ago I knew what to expect each day. I walked and talked but I was dead, lost in a past life, a life that died 3 years before. Then came the love of my life. Maryanne sent me to a site in which I found a man. I sent him a note saying, "Hey guy! Your in my neck of the woods." The rest was fate. I love you Eric. I was brought up in a family where spirits, spells and Ouija boards were common place. In a time, when no one understood….. and thought people who could see.... were crazy, those who practiced ....were devil worshipers, and those who heard ....had surely lost it. This wonderful Mother Earth grants us only what we can comprehend so think twice before you ask for gifts you may not really be ready for. But if you open your hearts and eyes there is a whole other world out there, a world where things that go bump in the night really do exist. |

Oils
I deeply apologize if I have missed any comments to a post like this. I looked at the tags and couldn't really find what I needed to know so that is why I'm asking this. If you are going to make your own oil from herbs and other items, what would one use for a "base" or "carrier" oil, I think that is what some call it, to add your herbs etc to? I've read many places that say to use olive oil but you could use other types such as almond oil. Has anyone done this and how was the outcome with the oil you used? Thanks everyone for your wonderful help. |

Solstice Spell?
Hm. I suppose this is a little late to be asking, but would you consider the winter solstice an appropriate time to enchant a gift for a friend? It wouldn't be more than a minor protection/peace of mind/luck/cheer/whathaveyou spell that she might like to have. It's wearable (a bracelet) so it's take-off-able, and I'll tell her what it is. She's magically minded, and will most likely appreciate the gift. BACK to my point. Winter solstice = good time for such a spell? Yes? No? Any varying opinions on why/not? And any last-minute advice on such a spell/how to go about it, or anything of the sort, is much appreciated. Or any discussion on this topic, actually. Even after the solstice, because there will be a next year! 8D Also, I don't celebrate Yule, so any religious "eeeh"s are out, personally. |

Need Help Stopping a Blizzard.
Hey guys I have a favor to ask. I work for a film company shooting a movie in Connecticut. There is a blizzard coming and we are shooting night exteriors. The blizzard would make an already cold and miserable set even less pleasant. If you don't mind I am asking for folks to try and dissipate the blizzard before it dumps on us. Cleopatra's temple to Isis; rediscovered
Apparently it has been unearthed from the massive earthquakes that destroyed it years ago. I find the timing very interesting - believe in 2012 lore or not - one of 'the' godesses w/ temple of all time has re-surfaced. A museum of all the underwater discoveries is in the works. It has been well preserved due to the saltwater. The learnings/discoveries from this will be quite interesting. I hope an anthropologist & archaeologist beyond the strictly academic are consulted as the museum comes together. If anyone's looking for Yule music beyond re-written Christmas carols, I have a few suggestions... Both "Deck the Halls" and "Joy to the World" (well the first verse, the one everyone knows) are Pagan-y without being suspect. "Walking in a Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells," "Sleigh Ride," "Let it Snow," and "Baby, It's Cold Outside" are all non-specific and familiar. "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles is my "default" Yule song, and Stevie Nicks' version of "Silent Night" has some of the more glaring Christian references removed (for example, she ends every verse with "sleep in heavenly peace" instead of, say, "Christ the Savior is born"). Dar Williams' "The Christians and the Pagans" is also wonderful. ( Link list of actual YULE songs ) |

A question.
I am still new to this, but I DO understand that you cannot do spells to affect someone's free will. However, can you do spells to affect the energy of a situation to make it more favorable for something to occur? For example: I'd really like my relationship to move the next level. We keep talking about it, but he is still fearful. I know he has been hurt, he's apprehensive of being 'trapped' & I completely understand that & I try to make him more comfortable, assuring him that I am in it for the long haul, etc. Is there a spell or ritual that can help him feel more at ease in the situation & perhaps clear his mind to make the situation more favorable for him to make a decision to either propose or make a commitment? I don't want to MAKE him do it. But to bring positive energy to it. Does this make any sense? EDIT: I got the answers I wanted, somewhere among the comments some of you were actually helpful. I'll be looking for clarity spells for myself online, since no one here could offer one. Thanks to those who actually helped. :) |

Spell construction help!
This hasn't been a problem for me for years now, but I've lost a lot of things in the past few days, the worst of which is one of my tarot cards! (The four of pentacles, ironically.) It's primarily been little things like a pencil, a pair of earrings... I did lose my bus pass for about 24 hours, and that was terrifying. XD Anyway, I just want a little input on spell construction for this. I want to find my lost things, but I think I also need some little thing against sending away the sprites stealing my stuff! It's really out of character for me to lose track of so much at once, so I think that someone (or someones) else must be involved. Here's what I'm thinking. Tell me of anything I might want to add to make it more powerful. I've done a divination with my four-of-pentacles-less Tarot and it turned out really supportive, but I still feel like... I just need someone else to look at it. Here it is: (object) lost, (object) found Bring (object) back with this cheery sound. Magnet, draw my (object) back to me. No more will it be lost, this I decree. Sprites hiding my (object), flee! (object) will return. So mote it be. I'll use a bell and magnet during the ritual at the appropriate parts, but I feel like a third facet might make it even stronger. :) Thank you! |

G'day, everyone!
Hi, I am 25yrs old, from australia, and I joined this community because I am the only Witch I have ever known. I don't do spells as in rituals with candles, and all of that. My magic is simple and more like childs play or art.
Everytime I cry it rains, usually that day or the next. I am not claiming to control the weather, that is not at all what I think. I personally don't know if that is even possible? I am only saying that for some odd reason since I was little, when I cry I noticed that it always rained either that day, or the very next. Now whether that means I am sensitive to the oncoming rain, or whether it has been a consistant coincidence over many years, I actually don't know. I have been to psychics who all said it happened in my past life, but I don't remember my past life. And there was really no explanation as to why that would happen. Maybe there was no explanation because it is just a very freaky occurance, and completely coincidental?
I can usually feel everything around me, and normally have good intuition, sensing things before they happen. Not everything though, I'd love to do that for sure :) (But I guess I'd be bored knowing all that was to occur)
The pictures I draw, the poetry I write, and the things I visualize while playing my piano nearly always come true. (not always though) I find Playing my piano in a storm is the best feeling!!
I love potions (there is something childish and playful about the simple potion)
I have been reading tarots now for 9 years, and hope to one day teach both the piano, and tarot readings to the younger generation. Thats about it really, except Thankyou for everyones kind greetings

Greetings!
Hello, I just joined the community and thought that I would introduce myself since nobody knows me. My name is Jack, I live in Ohio, I am 23 years old. I've been a pagan for most of my life, I've always believed in multiple gods. I embrace all religions as being somebody's, "truth" therefore all religions are valid in some way. I believe that the God and Goddess come in many forms, and the more I learn about other faiths, the more I've come to realize that alls religions are more of less ONE faith. All gods are one God and all goddesses are one Goddess, our Lord and Lady. I've never practiced in a coven. I speak with fellow pagans often, but I've had no real direction aside from the direction I give to myself. I would love to talk to other like-minded people, if any of you agree with what I've just said. I've been on LiveJournal since 2002 on a different screen name.
